Hacking So, what's new for me? 5.50GEN-D3 P4 user.

As the topic states, what's new for me? What are the advantages of the newest firmware? I'm currently using a PSP 1001 with 5.50GEN-D3 with Prometheus 4 patched over it.
...also, what might be the disadvantages?

Advantages:
Access to psn
Play all new games without patching
More stable
Get all the new features of the 6.xx ofws

Disadvantages:
Cant think of any but there is a chance of your old saves going corrupt also they can be fixed later.

If you love to use the older plugins, support is hit or miss for some.

Otherwise, the PRO firmwares are great. What ^he said.

If you have no problems and are fine the way you are, there is no need to update.

Native PSN access, new games work fine, you get the newer 6.x features, it works on every PSP model and every current firmware, native implementation of some features you previously needed plugins for (such as game boot skipping), a mod or two to the browser (to save files anywhere), hiding PIC0 and PIC1 actually works, NoDRM engine to remove DRM from DLC, a Memory Stick Speedup option...

The guy that was making the Pome- series joined in to make PRO anyways.

Hey guys this update really helped me out. My system seems to run a bit faster and smoother in the main menu and all of my games boot same as they did and my emulators all work fine, time to update them.
