Hardware so my buddy bought a unpatched switch but he has an issue

unfortunatly he has no internet connect via wifi option on his switch he got it on faceboook marketplace anyone have an idea asto why it says this and is there a way to fix it?

System Settings => System = Formatting Options => Initialize Console.

Oh, it's on CFW? It would have been nice to actually state it was on CFW from the start.

The real question is why was the WIFI disabled in the first place?
Even though you can, doesn't mean you should going online with CFW, if all the pre requisites has put in place to minimise system ban when going online, then you will be risking a 50/50 change getting banned.
Since we don't know any history of that switch because of it's current CFW state, the Switch could very well be banned or flag for banned once it goes online, hence the previous user disabled the WIFI option.
Has he contacted the seller to ask why the WIFI option is not there?

he claimed his system bricked a while back and it stopped showing up when he restored it but i kinda dunno if i believe it my switch is banned but i can still use tinfoil shops which isnt really a problem but he cant setup his tinfoil shop in this state

Hmmm, that's pretty much outside my technical support scope regarding any CFW related issues, for what it's worth and any other potential issues later, I try getting the money back or you could just get a cheap USB network adaptor and connect the Switch by LAN while docked.

Other smart cookies around here might have a answer.

Try to boot into Andriod or Linux and see if you have the same wifi issues. If it persist then you have a wifi chip problem. Can try to reheat it
