Gaming So, i'm trying 1 month free xbox live gold...

... And i play without a headset, because the second hand xbox 360 i bought, didn't have one.
Am i really missing out not being able to speak/hear te conversations ongoing?
Or are they pretty much those annoying"8 year old squeakers"?
Also, is speaking a essential thing for games like Minecraft?

Minecraft, you dun have a chatfunction, nor do you have it in all the other games so if you're playing co-op, voice chat is preffered and could come in handy.
If you're just playing multiplayer online against everyone like freeroam in RDR, you're not missing anything.

Anyway, if you plan on keeping on playing on Live with your mates, get an headset.
Wired ones are cheap in 2nd hand gamestores anyway.

I found out if peoples voices come through the speakers I can rest the microphone on the back of my couch or on the seat and just talk loud as if I'm talking to someone with a hearing problem. What I'm saying is, cheap microphones do a fine job.

hmmmm a lot of people get booted out of co-op games if they don't have a microphone. i have had mines on mute many times and heard people scream 'You better say something in the next 20 seconds are you getting the boot!"

I have a mic and enjoy it sometimes. Other times it just sucks.
