And that's not mentioning the ridiculous throttle speeds if you over-download. Let's just say I struggle to get more than 10 kb/s download when I've been throttled.

That site is buggy as hell though. Did any of you ever reach a number close to that when downloading a normal file?

In Japan I had a very crappy connection because I was in a territory without good internet coverage. On top of that they hardly have any competition in Japan so internet aint that great. However speedtest.net displayed ridiculous speeds.

There's lots of competition for service, not so much for backbone, you only have 2 -4 options, but then the providers... so many!

I've not quite reached those speeds when downloading, but near them with newsgroups. I can't find these speeds DL from the web or Torrents... but who needs em when you've got newsgroups *

My experience was a little bit worse but then again I didn't live in Tokio..
