Hacking so i just ordered a dstt....

and was wondering if i jumped the gun by not reading enough before ordering. the only games i really want to play are the final fantasy games and the 3 pokemon games (with the hopes of playing the 2 new ones (silver/soul and gold/heart) when they come out. is this going to work for me? if not work out of the box, are there any custom firmwares or fixes that will make them work.

You should be able to play them no problem. Get the latest unofficial firmware.

Official firmware will create incorrect size savefiles for the Pokemon games. Use the updated Infolib and SAVLIB from http://sites.google.com/site/weeklyinfolib/ to fix that.

dstt and r4 are like sisteres
they both suck but btw dstt is alittle better

any ways platinum should work fine unless u want to play a hacked

that all depends how you define the dstt's current state.
dead in the since the original DSTT team seems have abandoned it since it's been a while that they released a firmware updated: yes
or there is my definition of the dstt's current state.
not dead because of hacked unofficial firmware that all current games i've tried and all fake versions of the cards work with: yes

I too have just ordered one after bumping into this thread - should have done my research better I guess.
Was wondering where I can find the unofficial firmware and also does it run zipped roms?

Its dead on the DSi as we all know. And does that also mean the R4 is not dead because there are also unofficial updates for that elixerdream but everyone tends to always say that the R4 is dead.
