Hacking So basically Xbox one "homebrew" is just emulators

I am looking into Sony and Microsoft and I see that there is really any true homebrew development with the XBONE. It just seems that there is a lot of focus on emulators. This is all fine and I can't wait to see what comes out next. But are there no people trying to "Crack" Microsoft'ss console?

basically and its sad because the xbox one could handle homebrew games and ports etc but its because we dont have alot of info on uwp and no devs want to work with xbox one

Xbox One doesn't have to be cracked because it's already open to UWP applications. As above, however, nobody is super excited about working with UWP. The PS4 and Switch scenes are a lot more lively because XB1 really does nothing to stand out this generation. Anybody considering an XB1X would be better served building a gaming PC, too.

Xbox One was dead the minute it was announced.
The shit they wanted to do to it (always online, paying a fee if you want to play a used game, kinect has to be connected always 24/7) killed it badly.
Tho I keep seeing Xbox One fans glorifying it because it has Cuphead, but any gaming PC can run it through Steam.

Don't forget the ridiculous number of ads built into the messy UI. Both Sony and Nintendo did a far better job design-wise. Really I'm somewhat surprised MS lasted even this long in the console race, the Xbox controller was a nightmare, and XB360s melted on a consistent basis. XB1X was their attempt to jump ahead of the competition (Sony), but more power doesn't negate all the issues XB1 already had.

Agreed. The UI is sooooo retartedly stupid I cant even describe the amount of reeee I’ve had navigating it..... even after over a year of owning it.

Because PC Master Race and any app written for the Xbone will, with very little more effort, also be usable (with even less restrictions, actually) by any Windows 10 user (and with again a little more effort, W10M users, Surface Hub users, that Microsoft VR thing...)

Apart from some "quality of life" software (weather, etc) and commercial games (which are already in the official store), console owners rarely use their consoles for more than emulators (which were on the official store until, as typical of M$, they made an anticonsumer choice), this isn't the golden age of homebrew anymore where a Wii, DS, or PSP were the cost-effective options for a wi-fi, productivity, and multimedia device

Neither do they, honestly. The Switch is an indie dump and will be filled with lackluster rehashes, and the PS4 has absolutely nothing that sets it apart from the Xbone.
