I've been playing Fire Emblem for the past few days on my NDS and am loving it. But I only just got to notice that the units you lose in battle are lost forever. No wonder I wasn't able to use Matthew, Florina and Kent. This sucks!

I agree, I love the fact that you have to plan ahead, and keep your characters safe, otherwise you lose them..

Tell me, you say you're playing on NDS, is it one of the GBA games or NDS game, maybe you're in wrong section!

FE is great! Played all the way through both GBA-titles. I agree on losing the units forever is hard, especially when fighting in the arena. I remember that I trained all my guys up to lvl20 on the first arena you encounter, because on that map you were able to put your healer directly next to the fighter, and with the money I got from fighting I was able to buy new staffs. But when doing this with 5 guys in a row, and the 5th one dies with lvl19, it gets quite depressing. ^^

What do you think of the DS-Version? I have to say beeing able to change classes at any time somehow takes the spice of it...

i get too obsessed with these games

That's why I'm always so on/off all of the Fire Emblems. I play them, then get frustrated because I can't keep from losing a particular character in a particular battle.

But a little while later, I come back and try again (the process may or may not repeat).

meh, you're just not good enough,

you need to cleverly train your units

Its so much fun but frustrating at the final level! I am always loosing hawkeye or pent but then I am angry and then I stop with the game, then 30 min later Ill start again with the game...

Yeah, that's why I hate Fire Emblem. I always end up stalling, just like I do in in every strategy game. I stop playing at every move, sit there for half an hour then make a move, my pegasi archer dies because she's a moron and then I turn it off.

to add on, and not repeat,

there's different levels of difficulty.

most of the time, in the easy mode, you won't die.
