snes mini cropping nes games

I've got my snes mini running retro arch however on nes games it is cropping parts of the screen ie castlevania it says core, layer and nemy rather than score, player and enemy, I've changed the aspect ratios around in retro arch menu etc and nothing seems to work any help would be appreciated massively.

Check your overscan settings in the retroarch settings.
