Good morning! It looks I am not the only one with this issue; I have seen several others (on Youtube) having the same problem with Sneek.

There top right corner of the Sneek secret menu says "Games: 25165824" and if the 'secret menu' is invoked an endless list of invalid items appears on screen.

I understand the software believes there are really 25M games. Wish I had that kind of broadband.

Is some file or folder missing that triggers this issue? I have pure SNEEK, not SNEEK-DI. I also have a virgin emuNAND generated through ModMii (how cool is ModMii by the way?)

Let me have your thoughts and please.

As soon as my modding odyssey ends I promise I will post a nice tutorial here detailing all the stuff to NOT do. 😁

Also: what 'games' is it listing? Wii games are listed as channels. Does it expect to also find a GameCube "games" folder in the SD? 😀

It's been awhile since I've used neek. Iirc the settings overlay applies to both variants (with and without di) however I thought the game list applies just to the +di version so it's odd that it's even trying to list games.

Maybe try sneek+di or uneek+di. Uneek+di might be better as u can safely use sd from within neek, whereas sneek can be built with sd write access to forcefully enable it, it could lead to data corruption and is not recommended for the average user.

Also can you confirm if you're using the latest neek2o or the original neek? Not that it makes much difference in this case. The original neek+di must have at least one game in extracted/neek/fst format to launch, whereas neek2o supports other formats like wbfs and iirc should launch even if u have zero games.

All that being said, within the next couple months I anticipate some updates will get released that improves launching emunand games via GX (without needing neek) to the point where it's equal to neek in terms of supported games. Basically in the not too distant future neek, while still cool, will be made redundant.

how cool is ModMii by the way?
Much appreciated :)

For real, brother? This is lovely news. I believe USB Loader GX to be one of the most polished, efficient and amazing pieces of software I have ever seen. The fact that it's freeware boggles the mind.

How do they plan to make Neek redundant? Their own emuNAND ecosystem like Neek or some upcoming operating system?

Tell me more, I love hearing about this stuff.

Already GX (and other loaders) can play titles installed to an emunand using cios without requiring neek. There are a handful of games that currently have issues using this method and thus require neek, and I suppose also this region issue you've run into in the thread. My understanding is that it will be greatly improved, making the need for neek redundant. It's because of my work on ModMii and other stuff I'm lucky enough to have folks like blackb0x on my speed dial (so to speak) and have to be careful not to share too much, it's not my place to go into more details, that honour goes to blackb0x in this case :)

PS. I don't know if you were having a rough day the other day, but lately you're a lot more positive, I like this new you. Cheers m8

That's the beauty of the homebrew scene (and open source in general), people are largely in it to share with the community rather than for profit. :)

Rough day is an understatement. I averaged 4 hour of sleep per day this week, I have 2 jobs and I'm completing a MSc in AI in the spare time (not much spare time!) My desperate anxiousness in getting the Wii to work is to because I'd like to give it as a present to my child, whose 8th birthday is in 3 weeks, who's getting nostalgic after using it when he was barely 2 years old.

Full disclosure: I'm a highly functioning autist. The shitty version of me was during a meltdown episode (I literally can't function sometimes, especially when I cripple the only used Wii I could find after months of searching that didn't look like it was placed in blender.) Apologies. If some nice moderator could scrub those two posts about me forgetting that godforsaken Sandisk micro flash drive in the Wii it would be great. 😆

Again: I am sorry, and quite sincerely humiliated by the spectacle given and humbled at how nice this community is.

🤗
