I do believe that the 10.7 payload works fine on 11.0, and if it didn't, the exploit itself works regardless of firmware version and has the ability to update payload on its own if necessary.

Before you proceed, are you sure you don't want to downgrade to 9.2? You can update to 11.0 if you want and just be using homebrew with PSMD, but updating to 11.0 means it would be very difficult to go back.

If you know that you aren't interested in downgrading + CFW, that's up to you.

Though, in my opinion, it would still be best to downgrade to 9.2 even if you were only interested in homebrew launcher, because using CFW pretty much guarantees that you will never lose homebrew access in the future, while still being able to update to the latest firmware version (at least for now.)
Now that they've figured out a way to block oot3dhax and ninjhax, at least for now, I'm not so sure that having a game entry point guarantees that you'll keep homebrew access through future updates anymore.

well i mean, i would love to downgrade of course. But this is my "main" system with a lot of games and hours and stuff i dont want to lose. I also have to format my system to make it work -according to others- since my system gets a soft brick any time i attempt to downgrade it to 9.2. I only really use homebrew to backup my ACNL / Pokemon stuff and play coins so this is good enough for this system. I have about 4 others i can downgrade if i do get the itch (i already have an O3DSXL on fw 9.2 though just no CFW on it) and im also not very good at using the whole CFW stuff so i am ok not using it for now until i learn it better.

You could always backup every save file of every eShop game you own using save manager or svdt. Then you would be able to format and downgrade, then log onto your NNID again on emunand, redownload your games, and restore your save files.

You would, however, lose all Mii Plaza progress, all friend codes, and all Activity Log data. Unless someone knows of a way to backup those. :/

Just downgrade its really not dangerous at all if you follow pailects guide by word. Also if you are dumb enough to update to 11.0 not only no one will help you downgrade again until a public tool arrivers but you wi regret your foolish decision made by purely irrationality

There is a method for downgrading via hardmod, but it is definitely not user-friendly. It is possible, however, but much more difficult.
The alternative would be to figure out a way to bypass Nintendo's new restrictions. Seems that instead of patching the vulnerability itself, they opted to instead just add a new check.

Those are the main things i dont want to lose so yeah lol. I also have games that arent compatible with Save Manager or SDVT and i dont want to lose those either lol.

But thanks again maybe ill be back later on if i apply myself to learning CFW better haha, but until then this is good enough

Games that aren't compatible with Save Manager or svdt should work with those provided you are using *hax 2.7 along with the most recent version of Homebrew Launcher + the nmap folder with all the xml files.
If you ever want to back up save files for those. Always nice to keep regular backups of save files in case things happen.

Alright, I tried my best shot at it, here's what I got:
What you do is go make a backup of your current save, then find that file in your C:\Users\<Username>\Powersaves3DS folder, copy down the name of that, then move that file somewhere else.
Take the file in my zip file, rename to the name of the backup, and shove it in C:\Users\<Username>\Powersaves3DS then go into Powersaves and restore the backup.
Now if all goes well, boot up Pokemon SMD on your 3DS and hope it works!

Unfortunately it didn't work. I put the homebrew starter kit/salt's files on my card and the save file you made on the game card, but it just said that the save was corrupted and deleted it afterwards. I did notice though that when it loaded the title screen, the 3DS camera app had launched behind the logo, as if it was ready to take a picture; but that's not significant. I do appreciate the time you took in making/uploading the save though.
