Homebrew Smash update not working?

I've recently downgraded my 3ds and set up an emunand. However, now when i try to play smash, it says that i dont have the latest update. I know that i have it since when i check in data management, it says i have it. What should i do?

1.1.4 is the latest. the smash bros cia installed and update might be different regions. can you specify the regions for the update and game?

it just occured to me that the cartridge itself might be damaged, do you think that is a possiblity

How is it damaged? Did you unlink your NANDS?

Hmmm I gtg in a bit try and delete all data for smash bros and then try again.

Then it's probably a broken, I would just return it and say it malfunctioned and it won't update. They'll return it I hope.
