I'm really looking forward to this as well. Those review scores are allieving any worries I had about it being a meh game.

I know right. First I was worried the controls would be awkward, but all the reviews say they're great. Then I was worried that the game would be too short, only to have Miyamoto san say the game would be 50-100 hours. Now, my only concern is that my head will explode from all the waiting.

Honestly, I think ..
acorrding to ign editor rich he has been tweeting about the game and said

"I am extremely pleased to discover most of the stuff I've see in Zelda trailers is not late in the game. The unknown awaits. #ZeldaSS"

So im assuming we havent seen anything yet lol also remember this is the first zelda game where we will be returning to the same dungeons more than once.

This is not the first zelda game where we will be returning to the same dungeons more than once. First console zelda, maybe. Check out PH and ST.
THe tower of spirits and the Temple of the Ocean King dont count -_- there is a big difference between that and revisiting dungeons in this game

In OoT you need to go back to dungeons...if you want to get the Skulltulas (specially in Master Quest)

Just saw that GI joined the 10/10 bandwagon.

I seem to recall only having to go balk to one or two temples in original OoT to get all the Skulltulas, but I guess your right that in MQ you did have to do quite a bit of backtracking to get them all.

Yeah, but who the hell enjoys doing that?

I second that!

All of a sudden I feel like I've waited my whole life for this game. It sounds weird, but when the E3 videos came out I think I was looking for things to dislike about what I saw, because I knew it would be many many months before release. Didn't like the graphical style, and the way Link held his sword while running really bugged me. Now that I now the game is finished and people are playing it, the anticipation is unbearable!! OOT was a life-changer for me, and while I really enjoyed all the console games since, this feels like the spiritual successor to that game. It looks like they have changed just enough about the gameplay to make it fresh while still keeping the familiar beats we excpect from a Zelda game.

tl;dr I am looking forward to Skyward Sword.

I have to agree though, when link has his sword out and is running around, the motion doesn't look natural. When people are running with a sword, it swings with their arm, they don't hold it up in front of their face (that actually sounds like a particularly bad plan). I have a feeling that anytime I need to move in SS I will be putting my sword away, or at least when I will have to move across any distance (actually, I will probably sprint across it, and I am fairly certain from the trailers that sprinting automatically puts the sword away).

^ Not good, had that feeling before TP - rather think of it as being bad, then you'll have more of a positive surprise instead of a disappointment :P
But the running animation is a good point, always bugged me, too. Especially since it can't be THIS hard to implement a trigger "if no sword input for duration x, then natural moving animation"... I think, I'll never understand what kept them from doing something as simple as this. Of course that won't stop me from having fun :D

You could gently swing your wii remote as you run if you wanted to ;)

I personally will hold it pointing straight out and dash as much as possible, like I'm charging the enemy =)

Make a One Piece hype thread, then. There's a reason no one's talking about One Piece, this is a Skyward Sword thread.

On the other hand, yes everybody has forgotten one piece because of their love for all things Zelda. EVERYONE!...

I really loved Wind Waker's art style, but found Twilight Princess to be the better game (more streamlined). I'm a sucker for cel shading.
