Flash carts for 3DS never really took off. There are none worth bothering with at this point. The main method for playing roms on a 3DS has been to install CFW and install the games to the SD card.

You're not going to find much better than Sky3DS+ when it comes to 3DS flashcarts. Couple it with with CFW so you can run digital stuff, and that's all you could ever need.

Other flashcarts are either Sky3DS clones, or horribly outdated glorified CFWs that don't even run newer games and firmwares.

Sky3DS+ is still worth it for convenience reasons, especially if you already have it anyway, but you definitely should also have CFW.

Not really, just a sky3ds plus https://www.sky3dsplus.net/sky+.html card if you don't have that, better game compatibility, one more button for switching games and an extra skydock tool for getting private header.

Yea I think I might buy one just to have the updated version too. I like the option for the extra buttons to switch back and fourth.

Well gateway took off, it was the only option for about a year, but yea these days I'd go with a software option.

And later they took off again with people's money :P

The Stargate (also by brickway) is theoretically the best 3DS flashcard (dual mode DS/3DS plus ntrboot) but it's not much of an upgrade if you already have a 3DS one, and in fact the Stargate has/had problems with Luma which the Sky never had

I have six of them, one for Japanese, Pal and USA systems. The other 3 I bought for friends but I changed my mind and kept them all for myself Lol.
