From what I understood - they thought that they had to hold the game saves on a chip, but seeing as though it is possible to save them on the micro SD card(found via the Sky3DScTool.exe) they probably released a new card that automatically creates the game saves on the micro SD.

Looks like SKY3DS has a bit of an advantage supporting the latest firmware and being basically plug-n-play. The whole region-lock thing does bother me, and then there is the problem of no eshop support either or homebrew. But still, it is in a much better position than it was last month.
