Simple Video Editing Software?

I need a basic video editing software, all I need is one that can cut parts of a video, and put them together (Like cut part A through B, and merge with part C through D)...

Any suggestions?

If your on a PC:
Windows Movie Maker
If your on a Mac:
iMovie

Both can cut video and fade parts together easy, and as far as I know both are free and come with every version of the OS.

I'm runnning Windows 7.

Please suggest something besides Windows Movie Maker, if you can.
