Ironically, the only eboot I could get working is Prometheus ISO Loader... XP

none of the emus or Cave story work. [IMG]

Well... it IS a WIP. I'll update this topic as soon as an updated tool comes out. Until then, I will post what I have that DOES work.

Prometheus IL boots as if it were official, but if you launch a iso or cso you're thrown back to XMB.

I wonder how it checks to see if the file is less than 4mb? Bet someone will change it

    Yeah. I agree. [IMG]

I am so excited to see where the PSP scene is heading.

    Also, signed Prometheus ISO Loader:

    *Snip not working... yet.*

The ISO loader just returns to the XMB when you select a game. I used GOW Ghost of Sparta

The ISO loader uses a virtual filesystem driver, can't do that in user mode, which this tool restricts you to in an effort to combat piracy.

schlupi: you should test things first before just releasing them.
and as far as i know a HEN can't just be signed and then launched from the xmb.
it expects a different ram layout from being launched by a game-exploit.
it took skilled devs to actually sign the currently available 5.03 and 6.35 HEN/CFW launchers.

The 5.03 exploit is great. It's running all my iso and cso without custom firmware. No more tiffs.

The tool doesn't purposefully restrict to user mode, its just quite difficult to sign an EBOOT in such a way it'll run in kernel mode. No one has publicly figured out how to do it yet AFAIK. The only way to get kernel mode access on OFW is to run the homebrew from the PSP/UPDATE folder, but updates are more complicated to sign, so it hasn't been done yet. Outside of that, it'd only work if the homebrew itself used a kernel mode exploit once it has been launched to get kernel mode access. And that is perfectly possible AFAIK, I'm gonna guess that the ISO loader will be updated in a few days to use the kernel mode exploit from TN HEN, which was detailed at Davee's blog, lolhax.org.

That is more or less a limitation of the PSP. Since the EBOOT needs to be loaded into memory to be signed... it isn't to stop people from trying to sign ISOs or whatever. [IMG]
