I never read about sighax because frankly I didn't think it would apply to me. I just thought it was another way to hack your 3DS if you haven't done so yet by any other means. I have A9LH with Luma. I've finally read about it and have learned that it will make A9LH obsolete and will be faster than A9LH. Also, it says not to update past 11.3. I literally just updated to 11.4. Fuck...

If you're on A9LH on 11.4 it's fine. That's for OFW users

You're fine if you updated with Luma. And sighax isn't better than a9lh in any meaningful way.

Oh good! That's awesome news! I like to keep my N3DSXL as updated as possible!

I've only skimmed the original post. I really only know what I read, which is stated that it's marginally faster than A9LH and will make A9LH obsolete. I haven't researched anything more other than that.

The boot time could potentially be milliseconds

Good to know. That's not worth updating for that sole reason at all!

SigHax will be way better than AL9H because you can sign your own CFW, so no more downgrades to install AL9H and like the previous user said, boot up will be a snap, among other things.
Not to mention the protection this offers for users to update the system first before Luma.

I didn't even know what OFW meant. I figured it out. Original Firmware. Before my N3DSXL I had a O3DSXL. Both have had CFW since it was first possible. It's been so long that it's really a surprise to me that people still use the original firmware

Installing A9LH was actually super easy for me. When it first came out, it only took me one try, and was under an hour to complete if I remember. Having to downgrade didn't bother me. Not having to do so would probably make it a quicker process though, I suppose.

You're lying. It didn't take you an hour when it first came out. It involved hex editing backups. It took me about 8 hours, and 2 3DS's.

Agree - each NAND backup took like 30 minutes to make, plus restoring, and there were like 3 or 4 of those.
I did it when aurora's implemenatation was out, (NotSafe)A9lhinstaller + PlaiSysUpdater + OTP Helper + 80€ Phone for file transfer = about 10 Hours install time and a lot of luck that there werent corrupted files, useless rendered 3ds due to PlaiSysUpdater, luck that I didn't closed the lid on 2.1 since nobody has known that brick risk at that time, and then finally I had the low level entrypoint to load Reinand.

I bricked because the N3DS guide wasn't made, and it said you could update from a cartridge on the N3DS and I did it.

I think I did mine first when the Web compiler was made. I didn't trust myself compiling the thing on my own! And by that stage dozens of people had done it so it felt a little safer not being a pioneer/Guinea pig

I heard the web compiler was really buggy though. I just sent mine to another person to compile.
