If you are on 4.0 now and there are no previous installations of the homebrew channel and a cios, there's no softmod option for you now.
A hardmod is more future proof. With every new update released, there is always the 'omg will my softmod still work!' talk and stuff. But with a hardmod, you don't have to worry about that. It will just work, always.

how can there be a legal version of cIOSCORP? that doesnt make sense to me
tongue.gif
surely anything that enables your wii to do unauthorised things is illegal lol

either way, it sounds awesome, would that be installed over cIOSCORP then? and i'm guessing it'll support 4.0 system menu

If you have D2E Drive Chip (with out epoxy) or Older Chip (ect. D2C, D2C2 or D2B leg cut...) use Wiikey2.
If you have any new Drive Chip than above, you could go for DriveKey or WASABI DX.

LOL i dont even LIKE softmii it makes it easy on people who dont like to bother to read for the exploits...

to me its important to know who wrote the files i install on my console and in regard to waninkoko'sd new downgrader the point is

WE ARENT THAT FAR AWAY FOR THE 4.0 USERS
wink.gif
AND WANINKOKO IS ON THE JOB now those are not official compiles but ARE official waninkoko codes!
tongue.gif

wait a bit for softcorps and youll be STYLIN for free brother LOL

because Softmii 3.0 is the "easy way out" for MOST users who dont care to know who wrote what or how the mod is done...the ole Instant gratification generation cannot be bothered with details it seems LOL

after all patients is a virtue...I am very much content with 3.2 because i make such good use of 2 very large external usb drives (not just the backup loader but all my roms, media, music, wads all work great from my WD book's!

I can relate to that you never know this scene develops and changes on a daily basis all we can do is try to provide as accurate of info as we can...

IT IS THE END USERS CHOICE to act upon any given comment of advice...be it good or bad advice...I would read and if your not sure...just wait and see what the guinea sheople say within the first few days of any given release someone will "take a plunge" so to speak! even if advised against it! lol
