Hi guys, sorry that I really do not understand the different between the 2 Emunand version on microSD.

I come from Emunand on the SYSnand. It was pretty clear because I have 2 different OS and I boot in CFW or OFW easy.
My idea is to have 2 different enviroment. One as much "clean" as I can to play online with my original games and the other only for XCI and NSP that I download to avoid ban.

Right now, I create a Emunand on the microsd, the "hidden" (recommended one) but when I turn on the switch on, all files are in the same place. I don't feel like are 2 different systems.

I really do not understand the different between the 2 different emunand "hide" (partition) and "file".
I want to have 2 different system, which one do you recommend to me?

Thanks!

Hidden means emuNAND is installed in a partition that is hidden from view by default on Windows. If your SD card ever gets corrupted, your emuNAND is save cuz its in that hidden partition. EmuNAND as files means EmuNAND created as a bunch of large files visible on the SD card in its regular partition. You can freely copy and move those files around (to conveniently move to another SD card), but if your SD card gets corrupted, your emuNAND is gone. So you have the choice:

Hidden Partition: Save from corruption, but harder to switch to another SD card.

Files: Easy to switch to another SD card, but not save from corruption.

I would personally recommend using a large enough SD card and the hidden partition option.

When you create Emunand through the SXOS menu with the 'hidden' option, it basically formats and repartitions your sd card, clones whatever is in the sysnand, and puts it in the hidden partition. When you have just done it both will be identical, but any changes henceforth will only affect one of them. Im not sure if there is a migration option through SXOS, but i think that might have been what you needed.

What's the point of "confirming" games you know will get released. Like Nintendo "confirming" a Zelda sequel. "We can't be sure Nintendo is working on a new Zelda game, or if a new Zelda game will ever be released, until they officially confirm it."
  • Veho @ Veho:
"There is literally no way to know if they will ever release a new Zelda game, it's wild speculation until they officially confirm it."
