The title is a work in progress. This is a thread I'm creating that should help people decide games they should buy. If it works well, I may continue doing more. Basically this thread (as in the title) is about Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. It is a game that has been out for quite some time on other systems, recently released for Nintendo Switch. What I need you the members to do is give summary of your experience with the game and who would you recommend it to.

Basically I'm asking you to give a short overview of the game, how it works/played, how do you like it, what do you like about it and what kind of player would you recommend it for. Doing so should help more people be aware if they should consider having it or not. I myself am curious about if I would enjoy it or not, so I figured it would be a good place to start. I'm only asking people who has tried the game already, doesn't matter what system. People who did not try it, feel free to ask more questions. :)

I played it on x360 until I was able to port my save over to PC -with mods - and then I went back and forth a few times between console and PC, always transferring my savegame. It got to the point where the mammoths were just floating upside down because of glitchy code after my many transfers. I played about 270 hours and did most of it. I have two switches but I MAY decide to wait for cfw on 4.1.0 so I bought Skyrim a couple of days ago as a backup game knowing exactly what I'd get. I'd checked it out on youtube first and sort of had concerns about loading times but it turns out they don't feel that bad on switch. I wouldn't have even considered it if the framerate wasn't as good as it is. You shouldn't care about the graphics in this game. It looks fine on all platforms Some kind of AA solution on switch, it looks great. The color palette looks like the ENB mod "natural" I used on PC. I've read the game can be a bit dark in places and you can't adjust gamma....haven't encountered that issue yet in handheld mode. I've only played a couple of hours.

I'm not going to recommend this to any particular player. The game has sold trillions. It's SKYRIM. We know what this is by now, this is the third time I'm buying it. You should be able to find tons of info on youtube. There's not a lot I dislike about it other than weight limit for what you can carry which I mod away any chance I get but I've played it before so I can manage. I would buy Zelda over this but I've just played it and it's too soon. If you start playing and get really hooked there's 300 hours of game time waiting for you, no joke. If you have questions just ask.

Well, it's Skyrim. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not gonna explain what Skyrim is, since everyone should know by now, and if they don't, Google is their friend.

First of all, have you played Skyrim before? If not, then you might want to consider this. If yes, then unless you really want portable Skyrim, wait for sale. See, this version of the game doesn't have mods, and anyone who's played Skyrim can tell you how much of an impact mods have on the game. There's a reason people keep coming back to Skyrim, and that's because the modding community constantly puts out great new content, everything from new weapons, armor, houses, etc. to brand new quests and entirely new areas and campaigns. The definitive version of Skyrim is on PC, period. So really, unless you want the portability, you should really be looking to get this game on PC. If not PC, then Xbox One. If not Xbox One, THEN either PS4 or Switch. PS4 has a very gimped mod lineup, enough that you probably shouldn't bother buying that version for mods.

At any rate, I'd wait till the price on this is lowered. Skyrim is an old game by now, and it'll come down from it's $60 on Switch soon enough. Buy it when it's $30.

I have to agree with HaloEliteLegend. While the Skyrim on the Switch is the "Enhanced Edition", the fact that it's one of the only platforms lacking mods gives it a stake to the heart. The 60 dollar price tag only drives that wooden stake further. Skyrim is immensely popular due to the fact that it was moddable and essentially, neverending because of this. I've spent weekends modding Skyrim, adding in new features, areas, gameplay mechanics, weapons, armors, etc... and that's where I can justify rebuying it multiple times. However, with the Switch lacking this, the only thing Skyrim has going for it is the portability.

Now, don't get me wrong. Portable Skyrim sounds fucking amazing, and I'm sure it is. But I can't rightfully recommend a portable Skyrim experience if you've already seen everything Skyrim has to offer. Get it when it goes on sale, or if by some magical coding we manage to get mods to work on it(unlikely from what I'm being told), get it then, otherwise, it's a hard pass.
