Well, I was wondering if i should be worried about playing backup games on my wii system, I've been hearing about playing backups shortening my drives or lasers lifespan, I do play it everyday using backups, and just recently a minor humming sound appeared... should i be worried? and can my wiis drive or laser die out from playing backups?

If something like that happens, i don't the money to buy a replacement.

and if this is true how long till the drive or laser die out? an estimate maybe?

this is a myth. playing backups doesn't hurt anything. The only way it could be seen as "hurting" your drive is because you end up clocking more hours playing games then if you didn't have all those "backups" causing normal wear on the motor. And technically speaking backups cause half the wear and tear as real discs because they run at half speed. lol
