Update: Apparently, a lot of people got banned within the last hour. I'm not sure if I'll update the program soon, it's too risky. Luckily, it is only an account ban.

Can confirm I also got the same problem and switch code, if people who used shiver seems to be getting the same issue it might be indicative of something. However, oddly, its not a console ban, just an account ban.

Does that mean something else was the issue, or are we all going to wake up tomorrow and find out that the account ban turned into a console ban haha.

I'll concider myself lucky if its just an account ban.

My theory is that it's like that because save data is cloud now, and you can cheat without hacking your console (i.e. having someone else do it for you. if it were a console ban, only the friend with CFW who helped you would get console banned, and you would enjoy the cheats.)

Any game that can be a affect on online play. They will check the saves on. It's asking to get banned.
Nintendo did this with Splatoon 2 as well.


EDIT: Just a warning, this can lead to a console ban as well.

Or do I need to make a new Nintendo account, and buy Nintendo online again?

New account should solve it.

Googling the code specifically revealed some reddit post about people who had offensive nicknames getting banned for only 14 days. Tashiro's idea about cloud saves seems to be a little bit wonky since it relies on giving out sensitive information to even access the saves, so perhaps might still be permanently bannable, because there is no way to truely prove that it wasn't done by the user itself.

The only way to tell is if the next day around nintendo's "new day hour", to try and go to the E-shop and see if one got console banned.

They can see the save been edited via telemetry. Most likely they can see things we can't. Someone need to decrypt Splatoon 3 to know more. I know Oatmeal Doom said he saw some updated anti-cheats. So it's probably how this gotten found out, via the anti-cheat triggering.

You violated the ToS. They know you run unauthorized software and therefore cut it from the NSO.

Beamed, edited chunks and spent ~1m on the gacha. We knew the risks, but I'm surprised that the anti-cheat works after the cheatfest that was Splatoon 2.
It was fun while it lasted, the tool itself is solid and I wish there were more live editing tools like that for other games (I only know PKHex for Pokemon games)

While linuxares doom approach is completely valid the fact we had jailbroken switch, it could still be other factors as well. But as one said, its kinda impossible to know what exactly. For now its 2124-5114, but it could turn into a console ban, which is what I am assuming.

I only have 1 instance of a post of someone saying that it starts out as 2124-5114, but then the next day elevates. Im just gonna assume its permament, which is fine honestly. Knew the risk and I already had my fun anyways. It was gettign to the point where I had to learn how to play the game-competitively to get anything new out of it. Another thing is its different from the insta-bans for editing values like the sea-snails. People would edit them and be immediately banned rather than it being month long, so why did this one take a long time?

Though there is also the fact you Tashiro haven't gotten the ban despite playing around the most most likely and doing the same things as us is curious. Makes me wonder if it really is just temporary.

damn, I couldn't get it working in time before the ban wave. Hopefully the new update is shiverbot compatible, and doesnt result in instant death
