My friend has a DSTT and he can't get this game to save. He asked me for help, and after looking around here, I haven't seen anything that seemed to be a fix for it. So, I'd just like confirmation, or help if I'm missing something, is it true that this game WON'T work on DSTT?

Hmm since the thread is call Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey (USA) , I believe it should be quite straightforward that its the (U) ver. But I get what you mean by that too [IMG]

It works with my DSTT with 1.17a12 kernel with trimmed version of (U) rom.
and when I say it works, it means that it saves correctly and gives me random encounters.

Now I can finally stop visiting GBATemp again [IMG]

    Trimmed ???

    Trimmed with what?
    Trimmed with what CRC code?

Many people say "its working" and others say "nothing work for me"...

how we can trust you better than an other guy?

does trimming a rom actually change the AP? Lemme test that.

edit: that seemed pointless. still doesn't save.

*shrugs* I never told anyone to trust me, but it seemed that you wanted a confirmation, so I gave you one.
One thing is clear: I will now say that I've turned off my DS after saving just before the first boss, and it has loaded correctly as I'm writing this. It is up to you whether to believe me or not.

and when I say trimming, I meant to process it with NDSTokyoTrim or whatever rom trimming program that you can get.
I shouldn't have said 'trimmed version', since it's not much of a change except for taking out dummy datas present in every rom.

One more thing, the patch does not include Wario Ware DIY compatability, so I better work on that...

Okay, and you have tried with the clean and regular size rom?`

Can you give to us, the CRC code of the 3 files you use?
(or you can upload them somewhere)

Well...since the 'patch' does not do anything on the ROM itself, but changes three .dat file in TTMenu folder,
I only need to give you CRC code for non-trimmed and original rom.

    Name CRC32 Bytes
    ---------------------------------------- -------- -----------
    Shin Megami Tensei - Strange Journey.nds E2BBE05A 130,596,784
    Shin_Megami_Tensei_Strange_Journey.nds B7481FF7 134,217,728
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Total 2 Files 264,814,512 Bytes

Top one is trimmed, and bottom one is the original rom.
Also, both roms saves/loads/battles correctly with that patch applied, so I suppose it is irrelevant whether the rom is trimmed or not.
