So, yeah, it was announced that a Devil Survivor 2 for the DS is to be released... I hope it will be released in English... As far as I know, here's the plot:
"Suddenly, mysterious invaders called the Septentrion arrive in Japan and begin attacking the country on a Sunday. To fight back, the heroes in Devil Survivor 2 signed a pact with the devil to become the 13 devil messengers. The Septentrion show up at least once a day and you have a time limit of seven days to defeat them.

"The protagonist (center) is a third year high school student from a metropolitan area. He got involved with the devil messenger group by accident while returning from a mock exam session. When he awoke he became one of the devil messengers. Io (right) is a classmate at the protagonist’s school. As an honors student, Io has brains and beauty. She’s said to be the dream girl for many young men. Daichi (left) is also from the protagonist’s school and he’s a childhood friend. He’s a deep thinker even though he has a habit of making light of the harsh situation."

Thoughts?

Myself, I'm excited. Devil Survivor is practically one of my faves in terms of plot

I was surprised this was on the ds and not the 3ds,first one was enjoyable and SJ while alittle different was pretty enjoyable to even tho it can kick you in the ass time to time...

Yeah, same here. Surprised its for the DS and not the 3DS, i mean why remake the first one for the 3DS if they still plan to relaese the sequel for the DS.

Guess that means there's a remake of that one for the 3DS aswell then.

Here's some more information:

Were you surprised when you first heard Devil Survivor 2's name earlier today and found that it was already due for summer release? It looks like the game is quite far along, as Famitsu lists it as 95% complete!

Sokuho @ Houkanko has a full report on the game, with a few additional details beyond what we covered here.

Here's some of what we missed in our first report:

The game's setting includes major cities throughout Japan rather than just the Tokyo setting of the orgiinal.

The new "Enishi System" expresses the level of friendship you have with your fellow demon users. As this favor level increases, your allies will unlock new skills and more.

In an interview, director Shinjiro Takada said all gameplay systems are being improved. The staff is working to make players feel like all areas have been improved. He also said to expect a game that can be enjoyed repeatedly.

Regarding the three characters who were introduced in our previous article, the unnamed main character, Daichi and Io (who's a girl, not a guy as I previously wrote -- sorry!), the magazine reveals that all three suddenly gain the ability to use demons. They'll use this ability to fight against the invading Septentrion creatures.

The Septentrion invasion begins on a Sunday. They'll make another attack every day. You have seven days to stop them.

Based off the wording in the magazine, it seems that a different Septentrion creature will attack on each day of the week. The magzine introduces the Thursday attacker, who's named Alioth.

This is probably the reason as to why it's on the DS and not the 3DS - the title was already practically finished.

This looks like it could be really good. Glad to see they're bringing over something similar to the social links system.

I'm also excited that Mohiro Kitoh (mangaka for Bokurano and Narutaru, among others) is doing the design for the Septentrions.

It's a sudden news to me though... A good one

(and for some reason, I've been replaying Devil Survivor recently too)

DS2's main protagonist looks like the opposite of the 1st...

Anyway, more pics!

If It is in English and in American stores like the others before It I will be first in line here. I fully support Atlas and love their games.

It says Inaba Shiro Usagi (White Inaba Rabbit). In SJ, it's the Hare of Inaba, the one that's cyclically gutted by Alice.

Anyways, LOVE the series. So yeah, this is welcome news to me.

I'll rage if Atlus decides not to localize this game.

How come every time a new Atlus game is announced, people are worried that it won't be localized? This isn't Namco, Atlus actually translates its games.

Really

?
I didn't really know that, since I don't pay attention at those stuff... But then, I just checked, and looks like you're right

I didn't know My World, My Way was Atlus XD

Anyway, looks like most of the games (most, being those I know of) they've produced have been translated... And since SMT is quite of popular title, we have a 99% chance in this getting translated
