Hacking Setting up Ak2i for 3DS

My friend just got a 3DS for christmas and his birthday is coming up. I'm thinking about giving him my AK2i cart for his 3DS. How would I make it compatible for his 3DS?

Upgrade the Acekard's bootloader on a DS Lite or Phat. You can download the firmware update from Acekard's website.

Before updating: you'll need a ds phat or lite that the ak2i can run on. If the ak2i can't run on a ds system, you won't be able to run the updater, thus you won't be able to update. Make sure you have a ds phat or lite or a dsi/3ds that has a fw low enough for your ak2i to run on.

1) Download the bootloader update.
2) Download the latest akaio firmware.
3) place the contents of the akaio firmware into the root of your micro sd card; place the correct updater, depending on the system (ds phat/lite or dsi/3ds) you use (read the readme inside the bootloader update)
4) Boot your ak2i, then boot the updater.
5) Do as prompted and wait.
