Okay, I know this release is from Feb, but I want to make sure people know.

Google doesn't seem to have interest in improving the Android drivers to have minimum quality standards which could allow to merge them in the main Linux tree and share them with the rest of community. Of course, that's totally legal, but it's sad that a project that is doing so much to bring open source to the masses has become an example of how not to interact with an open source community.

So it seems that Wii/GC homebrew coders have been making better progress than android coders.

Think this is because they have more passion and personal drive for their work?

It's because they're not driven by financial goals.

As much as Google professes it is an open source supporter, it is still a business and will still focus on the things it can sell rather than what it can't.
