Sometimes my Vita doesn't reccognize the microSD card I have in. I notice this specially when I remove the card (even with the console shut down) and reinsert it on the adapter.

The access light doesn't go on and it says it needs to format. At first I freaked out but I noticed if I select "cancel" and then restart the Vita it usually goes back to normal.

Is this expected? Has it happen to any of you guys?

It's not about the sd card it's the adapter itself. The quality of soldering varies wildly, not to mention the thickness or alignment of contacts with the Vita. It's going to be a common thing to lose connection ocassionally until the plastic-covered adapters become more prevalent.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the format thing doesn't sound normal. If it was just losing connection it would simply not see the extra content and rebuild the database instead.

this is not normal " for me "
i remove and insert my 64GB microsd very often
"i copy games to the MicroSd via Cardreader, make platinum trophy, delete games, copy other games and so on "
and never get the failure with " format " on vita also not on my pc
maybe ur MicroSd is just dirty/bad/fake/corrupt

The SD card is legit, a Toshiba class 10 128GB microSD. The adapter is from Strident. He sent me two, although one had loose solders. I can try fixing that one and see if it works better on the weekend.

I was starting to think it had to do with the plugin, but it didn't do it at first and it seems it doesn't happen to everyone. Though, out of curiosity what are your Vita models? (Mine's a 1000).
