Hardware SD Reader problem

so my switch started not to reconize any SD cards suddently..so i replaced the SD reader. i seated it properly but still same problem. nothing is damaged in my console. there was a piece of black foam on the reader is that important at all?

Not really: Black foam just keeps it in place, as far you feel that sot is connected you good.
Any custom FW installed?
Check pins with magnification, pins might have broken solder joints.

I bet it's misaligned.
Just try plugging it in again. It happens to me all the time

Ok i tried it like 6 times but ill continue if it still dont conmect after a time then i check em with magnification

You din't answered, any custom FW installed or it's stock console?
If it's stock what version of a console it's? What board revision?

Oh it has custom firmware... And its a launch model

Oh and i boot on stock because i cant boot cfw without sd

Just for case, did you tried to use any another SD card?

Can you take a picture of the SD reader connector contact point on the motherboard.

I believe that is what causing your issue, damaged contact point.

No you can solder a wire to where the actual point on the board it is going.

Work complete.

replaced connector and SD sub board assembly.

Connector was actually intact, though distorted and "loose". All pins were connected. to motherboard. No dry joints.

Replaced components, new ceramic compound fitted, job done.

Though I used leaded solder for the socket. So console is no longer RoHS compliant

Pins are gold! I haven`t tinned the pins. Thats camera lighting for you...
