To expand the memory on my Switch I recently bought a Lexar 300x 64GB Micro SD. Installed, formatted and all worked fine but there are a few issues: one of which is a Nintendo design problem.
1. I cannot see a way of choosing if downloaded data goes to the internal memory or SD. It seems to default to the SD card. Am I missing a setting for this or is it just an oversight in the system options?
2. Occasionally, after closing a game and starting another I would get the 'found corrupted data' error. After checking for errors then redownloading the software would run fine but more often than not, changing games would throw up this error even if the game was cart based (Zelda, MK).
After a little investigation I realised that downloaded data such as updates were being downloaded onto the SD card for carts and digital downloads.
I removed the SD card, redownloaded all software and updates to internal memory and no problems so far.
Currently running some software on the card to check it for errors etc. but basic checks show its legit and has no errors (it was bought from a large well known supplier of storage products in the UK; Mymemory If I recall).
So, card appears to be OK but it seems to be the mixture of cart/internal download and updates/digital titles downloaded onto the SD by default that is causing the issue.
I don't really want to buy another 64gb card as it seems to be fine. Any suggestions on how to get around this and has anyone else had this problem?
