Hacking Screen adjustment using screws?

well you could use a flat head, but a small phillips screwdriver would fit too, and it is near the SL1 contacts that are use to flash the firmware.

Thanks for the heads up! I adjusted it and it fixed the "CRT flicker" problem I had, but not the vertical scanlines (which I guess were caused by dropping my DS). I'm glad to know about this. I don't know if there's a danger in doing this (I removed all cards, the power, and battery beforehand), but it seems to fix screen issues sometimes.

This technique, or at least the screw functions, seem to be unknown and should probably be documented somewhere. Danger or no, I've NEVER heard anyone talk about this. You DO definitely want to STAY AWAY FROM THE SL1 CONTACT. That's used for flashing the DS. By messing around with it when you don't know what you're doing, you could brick your DS. It looks like a large gold-colored flathead screw but it's not.

That's very interesting.
I don't have an issue with the tint of my black DSlite bottom screen, however compared to the other DSlite ( a white one, purchased on lauch day ), the bottom screen feels softer at the touch of the stylus, while I love the rigidity and accuracy of the white DS.
Is there any way to fix my problem, or do I better give up and get used to it?

That's a strange issue. The adjustment screws won't help you as it seems to be a physical issue. You might try tightening the system itself up to make the screen more rigid. You'll need a trigram screwdriver ($1 at DealExtreme) because the DS is held together with triangular screws.

If this doesn't work (only sets you back $1 anyways unless you have a trigram already), I don't really know what you should do.

I already have a trigram , had it since I mounted the afterburner on my original GBA

haha this is good. However this stupid annoying crap pisses me off, the screws are tiny and I cant fine tune the settings

I've heard you can cause the LCD to fail by allowing too much voltage into it, using those potentiometers. (I can't remember from where, but people were discussing the GameBoy micro's potentiometer which is right on the face of it, under the faceplate.)
