Hello,

I'm working on an offline edition of the Savegames converter. Before I finish the final GUI, I would like to know what feature would you like to be included in this release ?

Please do not ask me impossible features like Save editing or Region patching

The actual features (may change) :

- Simple conversion
- Batch conversion
- Multi languages
- Progression bar
- Vista skin, even for XP users

Suggested :

- Drag'n'drop support
- Program icon
- Mac / Linux version

Any suggestions ?

Thank you

Shuny

The only thing I'd love would be batch conversion, and I see that you already put it in there.

Thanks, Shuny! I can't wait for the release.

Oh, snd also, please try to make a Mac version

EDIT: Isn't it supposed to be 'gamesave'?

I asked long time ago for the online version, some people said "gamesave" other "savegames" so I used a small Google Fight and savegames won.

For the mac version i'll try but it will be very hard :/

EDIT : I can export my project to java to make it compatible with linux or MacOS

I'd like to see every save format (

) and translations into other languages. If you want me to, I can make a Dutch translation. Just send me the strings that need to be translated and I'll translate them.

Linux support would be awesome, even through java!

Great! Things I'd like:

- drag 'n drop support
- program icon

Some suggestions:

- a more compact and consistent GUI (use ':' at all places appropriate)
- big [ Browse ... ] buttons instead of small [...] ones
- Progression should be Progress
- Just 'Convert' is fine on the button, it's obvious what will be converted

Maybe the progress bar is obsolete since I can imagine the conversion is kind of instantly, at least with single files.

Good job though with the algorithms, now it's just a matter to present things professionally

Savegame is fine, gamesave is way less often used.

I'm interested in a Dutch translation, if you can make it, that would be great !

Ok for Drag'n'drop support

For the progress bar, it will be useless with a single conversion, but with a batch conversion, it could be interesting

I doubt I can make a more compact GUI because some features on the screen are missing (language selection and batch conversion).

I'll replace the ... by "File" and add a "Folder" button for the batch conversion (again !

I replaced Progression with "Progress" and changed the text button, thank you

It's my very first program so I dont have experience

For the program icon, i'm very very bad at Photoshop so it will be hard :/

Well, I don't know the feasability of a Mac /Linux version, but I will be happy if you at least release a command-line tool for these platforms, without bothering with the interface (which I think is the most time-consuming now).
Depending of what language you use to code, this can be pretty simple, I guess.

Et bravo et merci pour cet utilitaire, et ta réactivité aux bugs/demandes.

Perhaps an open source project would work, you could still provide a Windows binary, but Linux (perhaps Mac, I don't know much about OSX) could have the source to compile themselves.

I'll totally understand if you want to keep it closed source though.

Gee, I think a great feature for the Offline Savegames Converter would be a download link.

I think this would be a boon particularly on the heels of this latest inevitability: http://www.shunyweb.info/closed/

I guess I understand now why computers come with hard drives to store programs on instead of just a modem to access the program from some unreliable online source.

Not really. One, the site's still down, which any idiot can tell you is why you never create utilities explicitly for online access only, and two, the original site would still need to be accessible, which it isn't. And thirdly, Apirl Fool's is for queers and obese middle-aged office ladies. Fourth, that's off-topic.

hmmm...perhaps a homebrew version ^^ that would be nice...
perhaps if you post the algorithm someone can do it...

option whether you want to keep the .nds in the name (example: for game.nds the R4 uses game.sav while Acekard RPG uses game.nds.sav)

perhaps a compatibility to the auto-detected save type by acekard RPG...not really necessary...

Omfg, the website has been down for 2 years of existence §§§ My converter is completely free and I spent hours on it so if you don't like it, don't use it
