Hacking Save not reading

So the other day after playing pokemon black for 20 odd hours I decided it would be a good idea to back up my saves. But I managed to corrupt my sd card before I got to back up the saves ,so I recovered the files and got everything back but when I start up pokemon it just gives me the option to make a new game anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty lost at this point and have no intention on starting over.

Does your save have the correct format (xxxxx.sav v.s. xxxxx.nds.sav)?

If your SD Card got corrupted, there is a chance that the file itself is corrupted, even if you recovered it.
Beyond that, if you're using Wood make sure that the game is set to read the same sav file as before, there is an option to use .SAV or .NDS.SAV
Press Start/Menu -> Settings -> R shoulder button twice -> Save extension

Its in the right format and I've tried to make wood read .sav and .nds.sav with no joy I guess it is corrupt
