I think you need a 11.4.0.37 version or above like the N3DS XL metroid edition.

well im running 11.0 and i dont know if i have luma or not. what to do ? and if i update to the last update im i gonna still be able to install cia and yse freeshop ?

Hold select and power on your 3ds. If it brings up the luma config menu, you can update.
