I'm loving this game. In the airport right now about to catch my 20 hour flight. It's a shame the 3ds battery is shittt.
Don't they have a socket at the seat so you can plug in the charger and charge your ds?

Nope, shit flight as well. Only business class have it...urgh

With the US release just around the corner I'm hoping that someone here who actually likes Koei's Warriors games will post their opinion of this game.

I'll post a quick opinion on the game so far.
I've only played through the first stage, so I'm basing this on maybe 20 minutes of gameplay. This is also the first Warriors game that I have ever played.

Overall, the game seems good. I like it, and don't regret spending $40 on it.
The graphics are nice, way better than anything I've seen on the DS. But it does suffer from poor draw-in distances when there are already lots of characters on the screen. If there are no enemies on the screen, then I can see new enemies appear WAY out in the distance. But if there are already maybe 15 guys on screen, it seems like new guys are popping up from about 20 feet away.
The 3d effect works quite well. Very impressive in the intro movie sequence. In the game itself, it gives a lot of depth to the environment.

The gameplay seems a bit confusing to me at first, but like I said this is my first warriors game, and I have only played it for maybe 20 minutes. Its a bit hectic with the game giving you missions and telling me what I need to do while I am fighting off enemies. It seems a bit hard to keep it straight, but I'm sure this will be better once I am more familiar with the game.

At first I was excited that the original Japanese dialogue was retained, as I always prefer to enjoy media in its original language when possible. HOWEVER, after actually playing the game, I am now wishing that there were an option for English voices. The problem is that its telling you stuff to do while you are playing the game, so you have to take your attention away from the action in order to read the subtitles and understand what its telling you to do.

I haven't seen any horrible problems with the game.
If I had to give it a rating right now, based on 20 minutes of playtime, I would say 8/10.

I will probably pick this up when the price drops later in the year. I don't like the franchise enough to spend £33 on it. I can see why it appeals to some people though.

The whole point of a Dynasty warriors/samurai warriors game is to be hacking through dozens and dozens of enemies at once...like, mobs of people.
Soo..i'll pass on this. Based on gameplay I see the enemy density is incredibly thin.

I really want this game... and I want to take advantage of ToysRus's buy one, get one 50% off deal... but I think having three games would be overdoing it.

Thanks for taking the time to post something like this! I'm eager for all the info I can get about this game while I wait for Thursday to roll around and I get to play it myself.

That's something I've noticed with most Warriors games. The draw distance is usually pretty poor. In Warriors Orochi 2 on PSP and Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 on 360 I've noticed that large structures tend to only become visible as you approach them too. It's especially noticable in Warriors Orochi 2 when you're approaching a large door or gate. From a distance you think it's open because you can see right through it, but as you approach it suddenly pops into existence blocking your path.
Once I get immersed in the gameplay it doesn't tend to matter much to me though. My attention is generally focused on the enemies near me that I am slaughtering.

Yeah, that's pretty much par for the course in Warriors games. As long as you know what the main objective of the mission is, you can safely ignore all those little instructions most of the time.
They generally only tell you how to win more easily or how to score certain bonuses along the way, at least in the other Warriors games I've played.
I agree that it would probably be a bit easier to keep track of it all if the voices were in english, but I've found that in Warriors Orochi 2 although the voices are in english, a lot of the dialogue and in-mission instructions aren't voiced anyway so I still have to read them if I want to know what's going on.
One feature that helps me with that is the message log that can be found on the pause screen. It hold the last 10 or so messages so I can easily pause the game and check what instructions I missed. Hopefully it's the same in this game.

Sounds like a fair score. Thanks for taking the time to write this quick opinion.

I'll agree that the draw distance was bad, but the gameplay wasn't affected by it.

Actually, I agree with everything Zarxrax posted.

One thing though. How do I control the camera? Am I an idiot for not seeing how...? The automatic camera works okay, except when I need a full reverse.

Otherwise, this game is really fun, and I'm glad I bought it for some hack'n'slash action.

I definitely wouldn't let it be the only game I own though. I can see how the missions would get tedious after a bit. (Only played one mission though, so I could be wrong.)

On the PSP version of Warriors Orochi 2 the left shoulder button works as both block and camera align. It swings the camera around to face the same way your character is facing. I'd expect it to work the same way in this game.

Tap L to reset it in front of you. Hold it to guard.
I don't think we get full control of the camera.

Well I've got the game now and I'm loving it!

The draw distance on scenery and structures is much better than WO2 on PSP.
The people tend to fade in only once you're fairly close to them though but I haven't really noticed it much.
The graphics are definitely above the quality of WO2 on PSP. Plenty of detail and nice shiny effects.

Oh, one tip I learnt from reading the manual, press up on the D-Pad to summon a horse.
This gets explained to you at around the 4th mission, but it works right from the first mission. Makes it a little easier to quickly get from one part of the battle field to another.

I wanted to get this with my 3DS today but they had none in stock, so I'm going to order it off Amazon once I get some money.

Glad to know it's good. Most portable Omega games are kinda crappy (except from DW:SF)

Yeah, I know what you mean.
I tried out every Warriors game I could find for PSP.
DW Vol 2 and SW State of War were both horrible.
Strikeforce and Orochi 2 were nice enough though.

I want this game so bad but I can't afford $75 (AUD). Anyone know where the cheapest place to purchase this is in Aus? I know of amazon but I don't have access to a credit card
