Hi

A few month`s back a softmodded a virgin 3.1E wii, and updated to 4.1 using a few wads. But its not properly updated, says 4.1 in the system menu but i have the m+ bug in Wii sport resort.

Now i written my old NAND dump to my wii ( bootmii as boot 2) wich is at 3.1E and now upgraded with the latest HBC installer v0.6. I want to properly update the system this time, with all its content.

Would i be safe updating online ? if it fails i can just write my old NAND back right ?

Cheers

Updating online will take you to 4.2, overwrite the HBC (old version), DVDX (old version), cIOS, the Twilight Hack (if you still use it) and BootMii. Just install 4.1 again.

Which WM+ bug are you referring to?

How would i go about updating to 4.1 and getting all the content ?

I refer to the bug were i have to recenter the wii mote alllot using the down on the D pad, it looses its position alot

If you want to do this, make certain you reinstall the IOS System Menu 4.1 needs FIRST (that IOS would be IOS60). Updating to 4.2 via Nintendo update is going to stub that particular IOS, meaning that if you don't reinstall it first before installing 4.1 you're going to have a white door stop when you're done.

just use "pimp my wii" and it will update all the IOSes to the latest version, and install system menu 4.1 (one button install)

i prefer sciifii v2. for 1 button wii hacks. it too updates you to the latest ioses, installs sys menu 4.2 (fully functional) cios 17b, priiloader, and even usbloader gx and cioscorp if you want.(you can choose to not select cioscorp((i do not like it)))

I wonder why WiiBrew says ..... "WiiBrew recommends that you do not update your Wii through Nintendo"

Because at present imho it's the best way and is still 100% exploitable hmmm

to be honest you dont need to be fully up to date my wii is still on 3.2e and everything works
latest games, usb loader etc everything
just get waninkos revs in your wii rev17 seems to be a very stable one
