Hacking rxTools Custom Firmware in China?

Hey everyone, so I recently moved to China for a foreign exchange student program and it has been great. I've been browsing on here and I've been really interested in Custom Firmware's, CIA's, etc. However, when I try to load the Launcher.dat, I'm greeted with "Gateway 3DS Loading..." and that's it. It just sits there. Is this because of websites being blocked here and I need a VPN? I tried the site on my laptop, and got the same result. I'm hoping it's just an internet thing that can be fixed with a VPN. Thanks Tempers!~

"Launcher.dat loading" I also just noticed the internet seems to load about 95% then it says communication error.

what is your 3ds's firmware region and version?
did you update firmware via cartridge?
did you put gw's launcher.dat in the sd card?

9.9U. I believe when I bought Majora's Mask before I left the states it updated. I did indeed. The new 3.4 update. I was actually following some regionFOUR instructions and that was a no go, so I decided to try CFW. I honestly just want to be able to purchase more 3DS games. I wish Nintendo just made the consoles region free. I don't feel like waiting a year purchase US copies of games!

buy US cubic ninja and use ninjhax 2.0 to do region-free play
or download ironfall on the e-shop and wait for smea releasing freehax

@mbcrazed, you said in your original post that you're interested in CIAs. You won't be able to install any of those on your current firmware, you can only use very basic homebrew with Ninjhax 2.0 or freehax, if that one ever sees the light of day

I am VERY interested in them, but it's not going to happen! XD I'll just wait it out I guess, or save up for a Chinese 3DS.

1) The Great Firewall doesn't block both GW and rxTools spider hack page.
2) 9.3-9.9 are unhackable. Buy another console in 9.2 or lower instead.

(But be aware of X.Y.0-Z (X>4, Z<10) specific sysNAND!
X>4 Z<2 consoles are unhackable either.
X>4 1<X<10 need an ultra complicated method to fix the spider hack.)
