My PS2's DVD laser broke so I had no choice but to use USBAdvance to load my DVD games.

Recently, I got a Japanese game (Fate/Unlimited Codes) and installed it to my HDD. When I launched the game from USBAdvance, the screen went blank and the HDD's activity light lit up. After a few moments, the screen flashed and the HDD's activity lit up for a few moments then went off with a blank screen and no HDD activity at all. I have tested the game in an emulator to prove that it works.

My PS2 is a SCPH-50000 using a Magic V modchip (I think, I got a shop to mod it).

All my other SLUS games work. This game is SLPM.

Any solutions?

Don't use USBAdvance, it's got notoriously bad compatibility and to be honest if you've used it a lot then i'm surprised you haven't noticed earlier. The PS2's USB ports are only USB 1.1 and this is vastly inferior to a direct connection. The game works on HDLoader so i'd suggest that you install Free McBoot using an ISO image of Ulaunch, get a Network Adapter and play off an internal HDD instead.
