can u read pal?
they reduced the ram from a total of 1 GB to 516 RAM + 128 VRam
Well obviously you cant, because the 01net rumour clearly stated that they cut from 512 to 256 MB of RAM.

QUOTESony has apparently decided to play the bottom of the price war is not surprising that some features have been revised downwards. So, in particular, the RAM and the VRAM (video), which were reduced by half since the first drafts presented to developers. NPM will therefore include 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of VRAM for fast access to the PowerVR.
01net

But maybe i missed something, so why dont you post a link with your source where it says that they cut the RAM from 1GB?

The 1gb was the original amount for the 3g version. Later it was changed to match the wifi version (right before the change to 256 + 128 vram) thus this is where the confusion lays.

Source? I don't see why having 3g would need an extra 512MB of RAM.

I feel like Nintendo is starting to lose footing in the game industry. They're losing the casual market to smart phones, and the core gamer crowd to Sony and Microsoft (Mainly Sony). Nintendo has to change something or they're doomed to fail. If the Wii U is already experiencing issues, Nintendo better come up with a good plan to turn things around.
They're good. They're not gonna fail, not anytime soon, at least.
Thank you!!! \o/ Some are saying they're doom when they're nowhere near that.

Anyway, if true (which I doubt), they got couple a months left.

Of course they aren't anywhere near that, but the point is that it is a start.

I certainly wouldn't want to see Nintendo fall apart, but a little humbling and refocusing wouldn't be so bad for them.

Like I said, the gimmicks have gotten old. Stop pushing them, and focus on making a solid console with strong third party support. If they could make that, and price it reasonably well, they will be set.

Nintendo. Doomed to fail, with just as much of a start towards that as any other company, whether in a better position or not. Funny how Nintendo is getting targeted for this statement due to a "rumor", when Sony and Microsoft are just as equal in being "doomed to fail", with Sony and the poor security commotion from months ago, or Microsoft with their current problems in Japan.

This is the best post yet.

I completely agree with you. Nintendo is not at all close to failing (How could they with the massive success of the Wii and DS?) but they're not going in a good direction. They need to rethink some things if they want to stay relevant.

Personally I think it's the 9th generation that will display the beginning of a raze.

Stuff like this makes me think that the Japanese video game company, Leave Luck to Heaven (Nintendo) is beginning to run out of luck.

Then there was Xbox and Playstation. Japan vs USA. Oh wait, what's that? Minor hardware issues. Oh okay, on to the real subject here.

Well it is about time Nintendo realizes that having their product being produced in cheep Chinese workshops by overworked, underpaid "slaves" is NOT the answer for creating a quality product that works.

Nintendo, consider this payback for the MILLIONS of consumers that suffered from faulty DS hinges and system failure!
(At least Microsoft repairs their systems and gives you a year repair's warranty that reoccurs every time the system is repaired!)

What are you talking about? I send my DS Lite in every couple months and get another year of warranty. All free.

Considering what is going into the console, it's a huge development risk for them. Nintendo isn't going anywhere though, the 3DS will build steam over the next few months and all will be good again.
