Retail games are read only, you can't overwrite that. If your refering to the save data, then yes. Except for Pokemon HG/SS, the IR port makes dumping and writing saves for these games not work.

Yes I ment save data. So if my save data got currupt I can use the same tool to restore an backed up savefile?
