are there any good real time strategies for ds??
Age of empires?
There is a new AoE comming btw.
Robocalypse is said to be really good.
You realise you didnt even mention any rts games at all?
Those are turn based.
Robocalypse is the closest we've got to a proper RTS and is apparently great.
Locks Quest is very good.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is good but more of a RPG.
Command & Destroy is mediocre.
Populous DS not the best port.
Theme Park DS is pretty much the same as the PC version.
Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest I liked but most didn't
Worms: Open Warfare is bad
Worms: Open Warfare 2 is good
There are a few others but they're not worth mentioning.
Robocalypse is simply awesome (though it does have some quirks you need to learn to get round, otherwise they'll drive you insane )
And what about Settlers? That's an RTS. I haven't played it yet, is it any good? ('Cuz seeing as it's not on the list of "games worth mentioning"... does it really suck that bad?)
The Settlers seems good at first, but lots of bad design flaws ruin it sadly.
Robocalypse is a good RTS game...
The only bad about it(for me) is the controls... units are hard to navigate...
Civilization Revolution isn't RTS is it? It's awesome!
I really liked Eco-Creatures too, we should start a 2 man fanclub
Robocalypse is the best RTS we currently have on the DS. Not perfect and the rally point ordering instead of direct command on units without the cowboy hero is a bit bad.
Imo FFXII Revenant Wings is also among one of the best RTS out there, but it seems to be one of those 'love or love it less' kind of games for most.
thanks hadrian. didnt think there where so few...
the new AoM SHOULD be have been a RTS like the pc one...
it would have been way awesome but... oh well
i suppose i'll get a copy of robocalypse when i get home
I liked Anno 1701 a lot, isn't it RTS?
Err, it is technically. I do believe the person meant more of a Command & Conquer style RTS though.
Command & Destroy is just about as close as you'll ever get to an actual C&C game on the ds platform. It just uses passwords which suck.
Ninjatown anyone? it's not as a RTS but has RTS aspects like real time
It depends what you're looking for.
Like everybody else said, Robocalypse is the purest RTS out there (on ds of course), but it isn't perfect.
For tower defense, there's Lock's Quest (has alot of RTS elements), and Ninjatown, which is straight tower defense. There's also Final Fantasy RW which is a buttered down RTS.
But yeah the DS isn't doing too bad, but it could be doing better.
Robocalypse is pretty good but it can be a little off because of the childish story line and the very goofy characters. But all in all, it's a one good game.
It's rts'ish the wi-fi multiplayer is pretty good fun. Never played the actual campaign tho.
Lock's quest is a good kind of RTS. Not a boring, repetitive type but its hard to explain.. Is just good.. Different, but good.
what do you mean not repeditive!!! on the first mission you have to do like the same level about 15 times!!!!! i hate it!! its good but so repeditive
