im trying to find some good rpg games that are in real time, kind of like slash and hack? i dont really like turn based games such as ffta2. i've already played revenant wings and children of mana, anyone know any others that are out there?

wow thanks for quick replies, i will definitely try them out. will i still be able to play soma bringer even though its in japanese?

From what I understand there are some translation patches floating around out there. Also, I usually forget to include them in RPG lists, but the Castlevania games are good 2D real-time RPG's.

i've played castlevania but right now im digging summon night, let's hope it keeps me liking it. any other games?

final fantasy crystal chronicles is an action rpg with "slash and hack" style gameplay..i'm actually playing it right now, feels sort of like a zelda game

Soma Bringer has a nice translation patch by Darthnemesis.

okay, summon night left a really good impression but died really quickly.. there's a lot of minor flaws that irritate me in this game. if anyone could direct me to the soma bringer patch, that would be nice. and could someone also explain the battle system in crystal chronicles? thanks.

I wish for a new Shining Soul now that we've got WiFi on the console

Had a lot of fun with the first two on GBA - when playing with at least one more. They're good if you're into co-op hack 'n slashing.

lunar knights is a good mix of action, rpg, and sometimes stealth, and don't forget the shooting section of the game. you get two characters too. a swordsman and a gunner. or rougelikes like izuna.

think castlevania, except its 3d. i haven't played the main game though. multiplayer IS its bread and butter. but don't take my word for it, i haven't really invested much time in.

crystal chronicles is exactly a hack 'n slash. real time rpg. not turn based or probablity based. you fight monsters in real time, level up on the fly, and cast spells on the fly. the world and atmosphere feels very much like a zelda game (my personal experience with zelda was OOT)
