[+] Added the ability to customize the toolbar, you can now rearrange the buttons as well as choose from a variety of buttons from the different program features!

I tried to add the "Get Info" icon to the toolbar, but nothing happened. I drag the icon to the "Current Toolbar" area, but it doesn't "stick".

Be sure that you have less than 9 icons in the "Current Toolbar" area before adding new icons. Get Info works fine for me when I try to place it in the toolbar.

quoting my own quote from the news page (sorry missed this thread doh!!

quick question before I download and use this AWSOME program I've been using OFFLINE LIST for quite some time now ... does this use the same DAT file ie: ADVANsCEne .dats ??

reason I'm asking will it have to rename all the roms again to whatever format this uses?

and secondly does this work or in future with other roms besides NDS ??

that even would be more awsome

thanks and keep up the good work

There are currently only 7. Obviously, since I'm not able add any more icons to the toolbar, the only icons that are there are the default ones!

No, this is not the same DAT as Advanscene. However whatever 'format' this uses is irrelevant because YOU get to choose your naming scheme. Read the documentation at the website for more info.

And no, this won't be for 'other roms'. NDS Only. Hence why it's an NDS Game Organizer

ok I understand you can custom rename them but..

what dat/numbering order does it follow if any? scene or your own or other?

and is it vastly different to offline list ?? ie are the roms numbered the same eg 0001 Electroplankton, 0018 WarioWare Touched! etc etc?

sorry for many questions but dont really wanna go through the headache of letting it rename/re number 2500+ roms again.. can I just manage them in rominator without rename would it work like that?

It appears to follow scene numbering.

You don't have to use the auto renaming. It can be disabled and it will respect the current names.

Definitely not "my own" order

It follows the scene releases... Would be useless otherwise

Just a quick heads up too, I've done a quick-update to v2008.12.

Changes in v2008.12
[+] Added new method for customizing the toolbar, as the one created did not work for Windows. Toolbar Customizing window has not changed for Mac OS X

There was a bug that prevented the current method of customizing the toolbar to work in Windows. Now it can be customized in the same method as setting the view options (with lists and buttons that transfer over the toolbar items).

Hey thanks hankchill for keeping the updates coming...

Just a heads up though the program update links to a file on hankchill.com which doesnt exist

There will be no installer because Rominator is capable of running from any location you want on your computer. It can even run on a USB Flash Drive, as long as there is a folder in the same location as the program called 'Rominator Data'. Otherwise, run it from anywhere on your computer, and it'll make the data folder and all appropriate data files in your Preferences/Application Data/AppData folders. No install necessary.

Is Rominator going to have GBA support, like gba file renaming, or anything gba related? I think i remember you saying that the box art dir moved to NDS Box Art for when the gba support appears? If you are how far are you into the gba support. My gba collection is not really organized. Does anyone know a prog, i found one but it required some kind of dat file n stuff and i got confused, after it crashed a few times.

Anyway thanks for making a great prog like this, keeping it update and making this a free/donation ware.

I still have some things to fix & add for NDS support... adding in a whole new handheld will take some time, and I don't want GBA to be the primary focus either. However it will come eventually and no worries, when it does it will definitely be free as there won't be any extravagant features for it; just basic renaming, game info, flashing & trimming.

Sorry to double post (mods can go ahead and merge if they want) I just wanted to get this topic back to the top, as I have a small request:

I am working on an extension to Rominator, called 'Save Defender Agent', it allows you to run an application that uses very tiny amount of CPU and small amount of RAM that basically acts as, well, a Save Defender for Rominator, so you don't need to have Rominator running to have your system automatically back up your save games to the Save Defender profile in Rominator each time your flash card is inserted.

I need a tester for Windows that uses Save Defender. The Mac OS X part has been tested and I won't be able to test for another 8 hours or so on Windows

Send me a P.M.

its the first time i've used this wonderful software, but my problem is i cant update my database... can i download it separately cause right now all my roms have no boxarts...

Loving the new update, works really well - registering now

.

I was wondering if it'd be possible to add in the EZFlash 5+ flash card, now that the cheat database is available (EZARCODE.DAT.zip) from Narin?

Good news, I've updated Rominator to v2008.13, with a bunch of great additions!

Changes in v2008.13
[FIX] The bug which did not allow you to have your flash drive in without a card has been fixed [Windows Users]. You will no longer receive error messages until the flash card is inserted into the drive
[FIX] Sorting by modification date in Save Defender works properly now
[+/-] Deleting/removing games from a game list now goes 100x faster
[+] The EZ-Flash V card is now supported; you can update the cheat database, as well as any games that are flashed or backed up will direct it to the SAVE folder
[+] Added a new action; You can open the Metacritic Page in your web browser for a game*
[+] Added a 'Check Dupes' function, which will go through a selected game list and allow you to delete all duplicate games
[+] Added in ability to export game icons to PNG format
[+] Added an (X) button beside the Find field, to clear the results and redisplay all your games in the list
[+] Added a fully features Save Data Manager for importing, transferring, exporting, renaming, and handling your save games for any game you have (whether in your game list or not)
[FIX] Minor bug fixes

You will be prompted to download it when launching Rominator, or you can get it at the official website: http://www.rominator.net/

Enjoy!
