it will take over zip eventually, it's like IE and firefox. You should try and accomodate for it!


If you are willing to convert the algorithms for 7z to RealBasic or create an RB plug-in that works on MacOS, XP, Vista and Linux, Hank would jump at the chance to use them.

Exactly -- because I ain't doin' it! I took a look at those 7zip functions and algorithms -- Not fun to convert!

I saw one other person post same early in the thread with no fix... I have checked elsewhere and had a friend help, so please understand, I'm not nagging, just want this to work.

Load the older Rominator v5. check for updates. Download all. Run the new v 5.0.1, settings done -- HDD games folder found. SD card found (i notice I have to NAME the card in Rominator the same as it is on the SD card, not just point in browser to my Drive and "Games" folder on my card.

I Click my Library file and refresh. It shows the DB, shows my card name under the Library. A few games are highlighted in orange in my Library list???

Anyway, Load Queue--- Drag games to the box fine, shows the space adding up, and how much trimmed. Load about 5 games.

Click FLASH ----------->>>>>>>>> ERROR 1117 and freezes.

Every time. Redid the download etc like 4 times and restarted the computer........ NOTHING.

I CAN drag and drop from my Library list MANUALLY to the Card ONE BY ONE.....

WHATS UP..... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ????

Please help folks.

First off, welcome to the forums. You did not need to join GBAtemp just to post your problems -- I always urge people to use the Rominator Feedback system to avoid filling up the thread full of topics.

You're not providing enough information for me to troubleshoot the issue. Please use the Rominator Feedback so you can tell me what games, if they were compressed, trimmed, etc, and I will help you solve the issue personally.

As for dragging one by one, that's not necessary, as you can select multiple games in your list and drag them all at once to your card.

Also, for those of you who want 7Zip support, there's a better place to lobby.

E-Mail the support team of Einhugur Software and request that they add LZMA support (7Zip's compression algorithm) to their e-CryptIt engine. If enough people request it, they might just add it. If they add it, Henry can add 7Z support without anyone spending a dime.

You can pester them for RAR support too, but that is less likely to occur. RAR compression is proprietary.

ERROR 1117

Hank, I DID use the Feedback forum, no reply yet..... since my earlier post, the program messed the computer up !

all kinds of errors, locking, beeping. Tried rebooting but it sounded like the internal speaker was blowing up ! when the screen came on (with constant beeping) the mouse was jumping, and a message about a program not activating or something.

And I could not delete Rominator.

I shut down everything hard, unplugged the pc everything. replugged and booted.

Computer is fine now and could delete rominator.

I downloaded the 5.0.1 again. downloaded the updates (it says a new rominator update is available EVERY TIME)

setup, everything looks great....... the click FLASH

BANG !!! Error 1117

I'm not willing to keep it up at the computer's risk.

Can SOMEONE help?

I DO NOTICE there are TWO EXE Files..... Rominator.exe and ._Rominator.exe ???? i only Extract Rominator.exe to a folder called Rominator directly in my C: root.

I have Leopard and last version of Rominator (version 5.1b1 Leopard Ready!). When I try to download updates I obtain this error:

Rominator has encountered an error. Please report to

#1- didnt realize it's a beta... this is new to me, and downloaded the thing from a forum, just said Rominator v5

i was just trying to get your program to work, and NOT crash my system. I know friends and this this NOT happening. I read of 2 people -- and so, I did not think it was a general Beta issue, not when so small a number have the issue.

Are there other trimmers that will protect the Wifi and Download play besides "this" ?

Look for the DS-X Manager, preferably version 0.2.4. It is currently my preferred way to manage my R4 flashcart, and it has safe trimming. It works on all flashcarts as long as you have an apps folder on them. It's simple and quick. Just ignore any error messages.

The DS-X Manager will soon be eclipsed by Rominator once zip support is fully implemented.

yeah, i was trying Rominator, but kept screwing my system up (rom had a 1117 error), and I don't take well to Rude or nasty replies from the maker either, so....

Well, if you take offense to me calling you desperate for writing me 3 messages within 24 hours regarding the same issue that I'm aware of, then you've got issues.

I've in no way shown you disrespect, but hey, if that's how you perceive it, then that's not really my fault.

Again, relax, the issue will be taken care of, I just need time to fix them. I've got a wife and baby who are both sick, and I'm just starting to recover myself.

Next week I'll be working night shift at my job, so I'll have tons of time to get some work on Rominator done

Yeah no worries, I'm working on a new way to implement skins, as since there's not much UI space anymore, skins just didn't work. Since I put the details back in the main window, I might go ahead and put the skins back in

I work in the IT field and people's computers crash all the time. Big deal, fix it and move on

Don't worry though I will have your problem sorted out, I've taken all the info you've provided to me to recreate the problem and will have it fixed for the release revision.
