Have you not read the features list? Obviously not

If the Window doesn't show correctly, hold Shift when starting Rominator to reset it's state.

Regards.

Just got a new PC and grabbed the new Rominator, but when loading I keep getting an error saying there was an error loading the DS database and it's possible it doesn't exist anymore. It also constantly says reading game list/flash cart in the bottom right and quite a few games dont show game icons or box art. It has checked for updates and grabbed the latest updates though.

Yep, something isn't right here, I haven't even got an older version of Rominator to try that either

Kinda crappy because of 23 roms on my HD, 7 apparently have no database info including games like Polarium, Mario Kart, Tetris and Contact (which obviously do have info) yet games like Zendoku has database info

Edit: I also get an error trying to choose my flash cart at the start when setting up Rominator for the first time, error along the lines of "Exeption Of Class NilObjectExemption Was Not handled, Application must shut down"

Edit: After re-installing Rominator, now its not showing any database info for ANY games. Any chance of still being able to provide older versions of Rominator?

When running Rominator, hold the Ctrl+Alt keys down, it'll ask if you want to clear the settings. Clear them, and try again. I haven't been able to replicate any of these issues that you're having.

Regards.

Holding down ctrl+alt isn't doing anything. Manually clearing the settings and reloading Rominator from scratch doesn't work either.

Even skipping choosing my flash cart location at the startup wizard, as soon as I click finish on the wizard, Rominator comes up with the database error and isn't showing any info for any games, bottom right constantly showing "Reading Game List..."

Also, if it helps, straight after finishing the wizard and getting the error stating its possible the DS database doesn't exist anymore, checking the filesizes of the settings folder shows tiny file sizes.

Boxart.rsd 2kb
collection.rsd 2kb
ds.rsd 3kb
gamelist.rsd 3kb
savebackup.rsd 2kb
settings.rsd 5kb

Then I can check manually for updates, which works, updating to:

ds.rsd 142kb
trainers.rsd 143kb

So maybe when Rominator first starts, it's possibly not initialising any data, no boxarts, no game info, no data is there by default. And even though the manual update works, its still not got the data that should be there after installation?

Edit: Game icons not showing but selected box art is showing, although the same games I mentioned before still have no game data, icons or boxart.

You don't have any *strange* games in your list, do you?

And nope, don't have any previous versions, as for myself and everyone else the new version is stable.

You're not running Windows Vista are you?

Regards.

Strange? Nope, the games I have in my list were the same as were in my old Rominator on my old PC. Running XP too.

Edit: Did the wizard choosing an empty folder as the game folder. No error about database straight away, when dragging any game into Rominator window, receiving an error saying the game isn't in the database and cannot be added. Games I tried are EBA, Quickspot and Actionloop.

Edit: After updating the database, Actionloop could be added, Quickspot same error, EBA worked. Strange how its some games working and some not, not sure whats going on with the database its trying to read from.

DAMNIT! I think I have it Hank, remember I came across that error where Rominator put spaces at the start of my roms? Well I'd left roms on my flash cart with the space there. I'd copied the roms from my cart to my new PC's HDD as my other roms are on the other PC ... and it seems Rominator was reading all the games fine ...except for the ones with the spaces! My fault for not tidying up my roms I guess!

Edit: Although saying that, its also saying it for games that didn't have a space. Those few games are games I manually changed the name of before Rominator had the database update with the info. Rominator just wont recognise those at all. Very strange how it wont recognise Pokemon Diamond though, as I didn't touch that file at all, basically dragged and dropped onto the card using gf's PC (she doesn't have Rominator)

Okay, it was having problems with the games with spaces, but its still not working right and still saying theres problems with the database, even after having very few roms on. Never had any database problems before this release, its a shame I cant go back to a previous one

I've found an errored rom maybe? Tried dragging-n-dropping roms individually to a fresh Rominator install, got to Puzzle Series Vol. 1 - Jigsaw Puzzle (J).nds and got a message saying error and to contact you and say what I was doing at the time.

Puzzle Series Vol. 1 - Jigsaw Puzzle (J).nds = Same error, to contact you
Quickspot (U).nds = Not known to database
Trace Memory (U).nds = Not known to database

All of these roms were picked up fine in my previous versions of Rominator though?

Problem seems to have came from my card, it seems to have died

I've connected a different card reader, put my card into that and received a message saying its not formatted and asking if I want to format it

Noticed a bug. When copying a bunch of roms onto my cart where I hadn't clicked to copy the save over too, I highlighted all of my roms to copy again. I'd already copied one over and when I got the prompt asking if I wanted to overwrite that rom, I said no. It then asked for the next rom as expected, but even though I said yes to overwrite, it didn't overwrite for any roms afterwards.

If you make a list and then delete a game from the list the whole list gets screwed up. The icons and names don't match anymore.

Really? I used to be able to grab the latest rom, Rominator would read it, show me the game icon etc and I could manually change the name in Rominator. Then when the database was updated, I just had to click to auto-rename the file.

Either way, I'll be fixing the found issues
