Gaming Riviera save game problem

I recently got a G6 Lite and I tried copying my save off my old cart but it won't work! I was using pogoshell, so I know I have to load the game up, then back up the 64KB saver 1 - this worked for all the other game saves I backed up but for some reason Riviera just doesn't do it. Does it use some other type of save system that I didn't know about? I would hate to lose that save game.
