Hey!
I'll make this quick!
I am looking for advice. Dead board, maybe??
I messed my rail while inserting paperclip. My fault, me to blame.
Right rail no longer recognize joycon.
✔Try a different joycon > same issue
✔Replace the rail > same issue, with (now 3!! different joycon)
✔Okay I screwed the rail while installing it. Replace the rail again > same issue with all right joycons.

? A bit confused. Maybe the main board of the switch got damaged? Or is there something else I should look at?

Thanks y'all!

Did this trying to pull off the paperclip RCM jig to my switch and went out and bought a completely new one. For future attempts you should probably use the tin foil trick

I really don't see how you could have messed up the mainboard of the Switch by inserting a paperclip into the rail... Are you sure you didn't mess something up while replacing the rail?

I'm fine because I have more than one nintendo switch, and I have real dongle now (SX pro dongle, but not the usb thing, only the rcm dongle, got it from ebay for 10 bucks)

I doubt it, I have been in the electronic repair field for ~4 years and I know how to be extra careful. When the first rail replacement failed to fix the issue, I was doubtful I did anything wrong, but I still tried again to face the same issue.

edit: I checked the continuity in the flex cable of the other rails (I ordered 4) and they are fine. I doubt I was unlucky to pick 2/4 that were not working :(
