Hardware Reverse OTB USB Dongle - can I OTG my switch?

Hey there,
I bought an OTG USB Dongle today, so I can power up my switch on the go with my phone, however I only found a USB C to USB A(mother) dongle, and my phone is microUSB.
I attached the dongle to my switch, and connected my phone to it, however NXLoader and Rekado don't see my switch.

Could it be because of the reversed dongle, should I get a dongle that goes from my phone, or is there something I missed?

I'm interested in that too, my current phone has micro usb and I'm planning to change it.

The USB OTG must be on the phone side. I tried with usb c otg on the switch and usb c cable with my phone and the setup doesn't work. I need to connect the usb c otg to the phone, usb a (usb c cable) to the otg, then usb c cable to the switch for it to work.

Something like:
Phone(c)==OTG(a)==(c)Switch (works)
Switch(c)==OTG(a)==(c)Phone (doesn't work).

I have not tried usb c to usb c cable as I dont have it.
