If you try it, be sure to update all cores to the latest nightlies, and also the assets folder as well.
Perhaps even clean out the configuration files for the whole thing.

I'm still kinda worried about the Wii U version, given its uh, notoriety to crash with the black with white text screen of death. DSI exception screens.

can anyone help me with quake and doom? i got all the files, but now i cant find anything online relating to where i put the files, what to name the folders etc. I tried "load content" and tried pak0.pak and that crashes retroarch. if anyone can tell me where to throw the folders for both quake and doom i would appreciate it!

edit: found stuff, but still a bit hazy as stuff is referring to different things; i got "\roms\quake1\id1" and that has the wads? or do i put it in quake1?
same with the doom stuff... also, it seems some say i need ogg and some say mp3?

Maybe @ShadowOne333 could help with that?

For Quake it's the pak files, Doom are the wad files.
Doom requires the prboom.wad file to be in the same folder as the Doom wads.

Always look for the Libretro Wiki pages of each core for proper documentation and setup:

I've followed this guide but haven't been able to get Retroarch to work even if I just install individual cored via homebrew browser and launch them. It's been a few months since I've tried. Has anything changed since then?

Since no one shares the supposedly converted shaders. Has anyone converted any shaders that work for the Wii U without the use of the SDK that they can share with us?

I'm looking for the brz, saber, hqx, crt if anyone has them PM me

Has anyone been able to map the controls for Wolfenstein 3D through DosBox successfully?
I am struggling real hard to get it working.

Can someone please share their configuration file for the Wolf3D controls on DosBox?

It's annoying but it's easy.
Go to controls, then set device to keyboard + mouse, exit that submenu and enter it again
Now you have on left column your wiiu gamepad buttons, and on right column keyboard keys, just keep moving right till you find the key you want on each button.

Google for filthy pants blog, you can find the shaders there

I don't know if those have truly been resolved, if it's a memory leak. @ploggy @ShadowOne333 any insight?

To be honest it's a big reason I stopped using Wii U homebrew.

Are you using the latest nightly?
If so, which bundle?
The .elf or .rpx one?
You should be using the RPX bundle.
