Sunday Present for all Gameboy / Color Lovers.

We figured out the issue (Thanks for the Fix and the Bug Report GdkChan Team RyuJinx)

Saving Works

Made a Savefile for Pokemon Gold , Crystal , Blue

This is awesome. Thank you so much. Games are running with fullspeed now.

Picodrive still crashes on Sega CD games (tested with Snatcher). Earlier builds didn't. Green light on Genesis games working was given a little early. ;)

If you cant track this one down (/bring to the attention of the maintainer), Id understand. ;)

If you need further testing (more Sega CD games crashing on boot), just say so - and I'll get on it. :)

edit: Sega CD needs bios, I mention it here in case its connected to the bug.
just wondering does star wars 32x run full speed on switch?

Runs at 1/3 of the intended speed in 32x mode (both old an new picodrive cores tested).

Also dont get any ideas. Testing how "that one game runs" for random internet users, isnt something that is feasible or makes any sense. Its just that I hadnt tested 32x games before, so I tested one. This one. Dont repeat with others and see if you get takers.. ;) (This goes especially for the lurkers who might be getting ideas.. ;) )

Other people would have to do all the work - on an infinite number of games, because someone threw them a suggestion. This is the perfect example for "does not scale". Get over your helper complex. Do nothing. ;)

i aksed becuase new 3ds runs it at like 2/3rds speed with dynarec.

Can anybody help me, I've tried the sega games without success so I want to use pfba. What do I need to do? I put them all in the roms folder, still no success. Thanks.

//roms have to have a specific name for pFBA. There is a list with all supported ones floating around. Name-prefix for Genesis games is md_ - they still have to have specific names though so search for the list. You can do it. ;)

Also - the thing about not asking for personal support, until you've read stuff, and tried it first? Its kind of a necessity to make forums work - and not end up like deserted subreddits, full of people who like to go by hearsay.

Again - this counts against the "after hearing the same question 50 times directed at me, I'm out" quota for actual "experts" (at a certain subject) in any community. Also wrong thread.

i would wish people would say thanks for the gameboy emulator , but no they keep requesting for millions of things , why we cant use the picture full screen etc idk why i even spend my time to try to get things working

Well I can say one thing, Thank you from the deepest of my heart. Its people like you that make my life worth living, giving us retro!

Some Gambatte testing:

Pokémon Red and Blue
Main character has a weird red overlay, the rest of the picture is a shade of grey. This also occurs on the title screen.

This is the only time I've seen this with these ROMs on any emulator.

Pokémon Yellow, Gold and Silver
These all have have the "ripple" effect (that I'm also getting on Picodrive 1.7.1 with all games I tested so far) where the graphics get garbled in a wave that sweeps across the screen. Occurs every few seconds during movement.

Sorry, not the best video quality. I've reloaded the same ROMs a few time just to be sure.

Pokémon Crystal
No "ripple" effect. Some very minor frame stutters but this works well.

Saving all fine in each game tested. No crashes.

i am just a gamer like you i am not a dev i got some skills but not that skill like ScriesM and others , but i spend my free time trying to solve problems asking devs for ideas giving them logs trying stuff on emulation to fix it on the switch.

all of that just for one reason for the members to have a great switch time

since this is early stages and this is a non official port its roughly ported by many community members gdkchan misson me and others so issues can happen , we wanted to make sure that the game runs stable and fast first

@nate: *Ngg*... Dont go by mass thanks if you can avoid it/insert a mental hack to prevent you from taking that as a metric. A thank you from people you (even only tangentially) know and who will remember you by name - will mean more than a click by random folks on an impromptu like button.

In forums less so - but on more "result optimized" social media platforms, definitely.

Its too easily given and received - so you end up in a validation loop thats too easily established, and too easily broken - if for some reason, your posting title wasn't catchy - or your food photo, not delicious enough. And - by reddit metrics, you'll get considerably more likes for posting a cute puppy photo, or something "people would never believe" than to do considerable work for hours, days and weeks, and then sharing the results openly.

To compensate for it - thank you very much for all the investment in time and effort you have made, especially as you werent one of the regular Retroarch devs to begin with. I will remember what you did for the Switch HB scene at this stage, and so will others.

(Tested Tetris DX today - although not for long, and it runs perfectly. :) )
