@teampleb Heh, it was actually aliaspider talking about RAM limitations that prompted that to happen.

Something else to be excited about is that the (older) general FBA core was updated to support CTR as a build target. The cores are split for RAM reasons (and this will still be necessary even with the additional RAM because there are some frigging massive Neo Geo games), but particularly with this additional RAM incoming, we should be able to run a huge variety of games. Turtles in Time, anyone?

So, if I would have my sysnand on 9.2 (im on 4.2 or something) it would runs better?

Its a shame about the Blargsnes guy. Its a great emulator.
Just to emphasise, there's no reason to upgrade your SysNAND. Kernel access (i.e. ability to use dynarec) is available on firmware between 4.1 and 9.2. It will run exactly the same on 4.2.

If you do upgrade for whatever reason, do not upgrade above 9.2.

So uh... just learned that Picodrive is already working as 3dsx, and holy hell does it works. Castlevania Bloodlines around 45 fps and Sonic the Hedgehog fullspeed with (frequent) slowdowns. It does lock after loading a third rom though.

Testing a few more cores later today. Picodrive feels VERY promising.

@SLiV3R Probably not, PSX emulation isn't very RAM-heavy. The original console had very little RAM (2MB) and data is just streamed off the disc (or disc image here). So there isn't really a shortage of RAM when emulating PSX. The real advantage will be in applications where massive amounts of data need to be in RAM at once, like Neo Geo games, rather than PSX where there's a lot of total data but you're only using a tiny bit of it at any given time.

Looks like you won't have to worry about RAM soon. Smea is preparing an update that gives us 16 MB more RAM on the o3DS and 64 MB more RAM on n3DS.

*LE GASP*
(More) Neo-Geo, HERE I COME!
(When did he say said update was coming, if any ETA was given?)

Ah, good job Smea! But this will change nothing for .cia users? How can we take advantage of the extended RAM with .CIA?

Sorry. I read about that. O3DS users will probably benefit most.
Everybody will benefit. N3DS users could be argued to benefit more because the N3DS has more RAM. Some absolutely massive roms may only load on a N3DS because of this. But the extra 16MB for O3DS users is still valuable.

Do the SNES RetroArch Emulators have cheat support yet? If yes, has anyone gotten it to work?

Yep!
Just gotta download the standard Windows release of Retroarch, it should have a "cheats" folder. Copy ALL of that to the 3DS, make sure 3DS Retroarch detects this folder (Settings -> Directories), and check in game for "Core Cheat Options".

...Buuuuuut it works so-so. At least on Earthbound (SNES), I couldn't get the Debug menu booted. I haven't tried anything else... yet.

waiting N64 core! i wanna beta test it on my n3ds.

i remember aliaspider saying that RetroArch was not using all Ram, so maybe even on Cia builds we can't have full ram.

I tested the 01/10/2015 6:43 .3dsx builds of PCSX with FFVII on both O3DS and N3DS running 10.1.0-27 via IronHax:

The frame rate isn't too smooth, O3DS runs at 5-8FPS while N3DS XL runs at 11-16FPS. Hopefully future builds can be better optimised, but at least it's a good start.
